Nigerian comedian, Mr. Macaroni, has broken silence after he was arrested for joining the #OccupyLekkiTollgate prostest on Saturday.
Recall that Nigerians under the hash tag, #OccupyLekkiTollgate had protested on Saturday, February 13, against the reopening of the Lekki tollgate, their reason being that #EndSARS victims of 20th October 2020 are yet to get the justice they deserve.
The police also arraigned them in court on a three-count charge bothering on breaching Covid-19 protocols, breaching public peace and for violating the government’s order not to protest.
However, they were all granted bail and subsequently released after they pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against them.
Mr. Macaroni has now reacted to his arrest in a new video. He said the government has failed Nigerians for having no value for lives of its citizens.
He also revealed that the policemen told them to their faces that they would have killed them if their arrest wasn’t publicized.
He appreciated everyone for checking up on him and for ensuring he was released. He also applauded the 39 other persons who were arrested with him, noting that they were the ones who gave him the “ginger” to join the protest.
Macaroni therefore called on Nigerians to come together and speak up against the ills of the government with one voice.
