Nollywood actor turned politician, Desmond Elliot, has been dragged on social media by some Nigerians who have alleged he is supporting an anti-social media bill in the Lagos State House of Assembly.
Several tweets gathered when Desmond Elliot trended today, October 26, on Twitter, suggest that the Lagos State House of Assembly is allegedly working on a bill to regulate and control speech on social media.
They went on to assert that the said social media bill is aimed at enabling Lagos state to easily arrest youths who would continue tweeting about the Lekki Tollgate incident after it might have been passed and enacted.
Their grievances are hinged on their belief that Desmond Elliot should be on the side of the youths in that he is also a youth.

So the plan is to deny the Lekki Massacre and then start arresting anyone who tweets about it? What is wrong with us?”
